Looking at the team one can easily conclude either they don’t have deep pockets or decided to nurture talent. Rajasthan Royals represent pink city Jaipur and owned by Emerging media. Captained and Coached by Aussie leg spinner Shane Warne (Cost Cutting or would have thought no need of a coach!!). There is no Icon Player for the team. This is the only IPL team to have a foreign captain and playing coach..
Fraser Castellino is the Ceo for this team. Shane Warne will be the head coach for this team and assisted by T20 specialist Jeremy Snape as performance coach
Strength – Balanced team with a good mix of all rounder’s
Week nes – over aged players, poor bowling strength
Star Players – Mascarenhas, Graeme Smith, Warne, Shane Watson. With A strike rate of 142 in T20’s and 120’s in ODI’s Macherenhas ( England’s sole representive in IPL) is a guy who can turn fortunes for Rajasthan Royals, but unfortunatley he will only be part of IPL for 2 weeks in mid-may and returns for Finals. Shane Warne is a great player but will have little impact in a flat subcontinent T20 specific pitches. Could not understand what Justin Langer is supposed to do in a Twenty 20 matches.
My bet- They will end up somewhere between 6-8. What do you guys think?
