Canadian company Live Current Media struck a 10-year deal with IPL to develop and generate revenue from two new web portals, IPLT20.com and BCCI.tv. LCM will make a guaranteed payment of $5m a year – $3m for the BCCI and $2m for IPL – for the online rights.

The news channels that threatened to boycott the IPL have withdrawn the threat after talks with Lalit Modi. IPL comromised on a greater extent and agreed offer four minutes of free match footage instead of the 30 seconds that was offered previously. Also, the ban on channels using the archival footage has been removed.
