Shading shows each team’s home province, not an official boundary. District teams are picked from clubs, not by where players live. The Eastern, Uva and Sabaragamuwa provinces have no NSL base. India is shown in grey.

Where the game
comes alive.
From the Galle fort to the hills of Pallekele, Sri Lanka has eight international grounds. Most of the game, though, is played on club and school grounds every weekend.
- International
- Has hosted international matches as well as domestic cricket.
- Domestic
- Hosts National Super League, major club or LPL matches.
- Club & community
- Where weekend club and junior cricket is played. Added as clubs confirm them.
Modular groundThe 3D ground is a representative community ground built to Laws of Cricket dimensions (20.12 m pitch, 3.05 m width). It is not a replica of any named venue.
There is no single ladder.
Most cricketers start in school cricket. The best join a major club, earn a place in a district team, and move on to Sri Lanka. The LPL is a side route that can change a career in one season.

Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) is the national governing body. Senior domestic cricket is played by major clubs, most of them in Colombo. In 2025/26 the top tier had 14 clubs. The best club players are picked for district teams in the National Super League, and the Lanka Premier League runs as a separate franchise competition.
What is the National Super League?
A first-class tournament between district teams picked from the clubs. The 2026 4-Day edition ran from 6 April to 7 May with four teams, Colombo, Dambulla, Galle and Kandy. Dambulla beat Colombo by 119 runs in the final.
What changes are planned for domestic cricket?
In September 2026 an SLC committee announced plans to cut the top tier from 14 clubs to 10, keep 12 clubs in the second tier, and make the main first-class tournament four days instead of three. No start date was given.

The Lanka Premier League is a T20 franchise league with five privately owned teams: Colombo Kaps, Dambulla Sixers, Galle Gallants, Jaffna Kings and Kandy Royals. Galle Gallants won the 2026 title.
Who won the domestic titles in 2025/26?
Colts CC won the Major Club 3-Day League, Dambulla won the National Super League 4-Day final, and Galle Gallants won LPL 2026.
